Think traditional Christmas lighting when envisioning C7 and C9 Christmas lights. Both are much larger and durable than mini lights and designed to remain lit even if other bulbs go out.
Favorite uses for the many different colors of outdoor string lights include outlining buildings to create a design at night or show off unique angles and features. Need-to-Know C7 and C9 Information
Not all bulbs have the same level of brightness. With the exception of LED lights, wattage usually increases the bulb’s light. Both bulbs, generally dipped twice for color, sometimes receive three coats. The coating reduces the brilliance. Weather wears off the protective coating on the bulb, so second season lights often shine brighter that the new ones.
The bases used on C9 and C7 LED Christmas lights are different. The smallest base is the candelabra base, used by the C7 bulb. The C9, on the other hand, has a larger base known as an intermediate base. The bulbs are not interchangeable.
Strings of lights must be compatible, so do not mix C7 and C9 strings or different wattage within the same type of bulb. Follow guidelines for the maximum number of lights and strings that can be joined together and enjoy the beauty and joy colorful lights bring to your home.
